20-20
Thats right, 20 keepers over 14 inches for JB ,and 20 for Denny today..what a day! Water temp mid 80's but had rained all night and just stopped at 4 am...denny and me were on the water by 6am...he was throwing a buzzbait and had me down 8 to nothing, I caught one and then broke one off on a buzzbait(damn that red line...never again!), anywas, I put on a REB spinnerbait..did I mention it was a REB? well I worked one corner of some fallen willow trees and got 6, all 15inches+ as denny about pooped his pants lol.....the humidity was something, fogging up the glasses about every 5 minutes..
I switched from spinnerbait to several other lures, xrap(denny got one ) and then also the fluke(they no likie dat tho), and also threw the tiny torpedo..I started out with the torpedo, thats how denny got so many ahead of me, but after the spinnerbait bite and top water bite slowed, I got out the good ol zoom vibra craw and started flipping my lil heart out and boated about another 10 fish, putting me up 18-13 by then... the last couple hours the action slowed a tad (from 11-1), denny got back up to 17, then I finally got a few more to total 20 , and denny as well got some on the bomber craw...helluva best day ever on the water! Only had one fish that was under 12 inches, course he didn't count lol Fish were close to the bank, but not on it. |
