Trolling motor mounted
I got the trolling motor mounted on the front of the boat. I bolted a 3 foot long composite decking board (won't rot) to the front and then mounted the guide on it. It works like a charm. The only thing is that it is wired to the starting battery. This week I am buying another battery just for the trolling motor and fish finder. By this coming weekend, the boat will be ready for fishing. I'm pumped. Hopefully I'll get to post some picks of my first fish from the boat.
Any suggestions for a good 12v trolling motor battery. I don't mind spending the money if the battery lasts and is reliable. |

A friend of mine swears by the Everstart Maxx marine batteries. You can get them at wal-mart for around $75 if I remember correctly.
I bought a couple last year for my 24v motor and they have performed very well. |
