Dayuuuuuum, Its warmer here in NY than Texas ? ought to be a law against it. We got the freezing rain treatment this morning, but now its raining harder taking the ice off.Its 38 degrees, I think once it hits 40, I'll be going fishing for a while. P N J

we've only had a couple of snows this year, and a inch that goes away that day..
most years we have anywhere from 5 inches on the ground to 28 inches . This year has been a blessing for heating bills and snow shoveling lol |

It was 82 here earlier today... Maybe that is why the fish are starting to spawn.

Adam, it just warmed up to a balmy 34 degrees here, but it is starting to rain again-the weatherman said we might have an inch of snow on the ground by morning and 1-3" by tomorrow afternoon. Flyrod and I have been discussing when we will get out next-we want to see how much if any our local lake came up after heavy rain yesterday as well as how much the water temp drops-it was 55-56 earlier this week.

People here don't get too shook up if theres snow, its the drifts on the backroad that gets bad..couple feet.

Were supposed to get some slush tonight, but I find it highly unlikley. Then again I found it highly unlikely that it snowed 6" a few years ago. Glad we made good on some firewood, heaters aint made for 20's down here. Old Silver didnt want to crank this morning showing the old bones. Brazoria and Galveston Counties are the only ones not listed in the ice warning zone as we are so close to the coast-hope their right. The yankees dont realize roads down here are made for water, heat and dry conditions-not ice. Ive got an old water bed mattress that I can put in the bed for some traction-which I normally dont care about. The whole thing of it is if it snows, ices, sleets I will drive in it, If it has hair I can ride it, if it has a beat I can dance to it, if it has tires, I can drive it.

Tom, you may be right-it fits.
For those of you that don't know, every time JackL comes to Texas it snows, sleets, rains, and everything between . No snow as of yet, but it sleeted most of the day and I have 6" icicles hanging off the house and the truck and everything not paved is encased in ice. Except the bridges-they are all closed.

Why do southerners fail to realize that the term "yankee" refers to all Americans, not just northerners?
But yeah, you guys don't even have snow plows down there, do you? |
