help for a german bass fishing beginner
first of all i have to say thx for all your support to buy a new spinning combo.
i bought the quantum tournament edition rod and the shimano stradic and i have to say i love this combo. thx again. i have to say that i'm fishing since i was 7 years old. i was always very into fishing and have now 20 years of fishing experiance back in germany. BUT only with spinning reels. after i moved here for attending san diego state university i decided to buy my first baitcasting combo. and that's the point where i need your help again, because i don't know which baitcaster to go for. for the rod i would like to go also for quantum tour edition 6'6'' MH but don't know exactly which baitcaster to put on. first of all i thought about buying the plueger echolon, BUT i think that this baitcaster is only right handed. PLEASE correct me if i'm wrong, because then i'm going to buy this one. price and qualitiy should be the same like the echolon but it definately has to be lefthanded. thx for your sopport in advance, sebastian |

You definately want to go with a quality setup for your first baitcaster, or else it will be harder to learn, and you'll get discouraged fast. I would reccomend a Pfleuger, Daiwa, or Quantum to you. For a little bit more, you can buy this one in left hand
http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse or this one http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse bps makes a decent reel http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse another daiwa http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse Hope this helps |

Yeah, but from experience, the first time, I wouldn't spool up with expensive line, as you will probably get a fairamount of backalashes. Don't ever forget to set the resistance for every single lure.

pflugher trion in left handed verisons are my weapon of choice when pitching or flipping t-rigs.. left/ right bait casters don't switch hit like a spinning reel -nature of the beast- either ya love lefty reels or ya hate them..please note i am probly the ONLY member that switch hits with bait casters.. i know bassenforcer is a left hand chunker-i am laying blame on him-and got me into the lefty reels..

Sebastian,

Stange Und Carpyo.

I'm not offended, just want to know what you said about me, and you were talking about me, unless FlyRod in german is Vabass.
