Prespawn?
Went fishing the other day, didnt have time to take the boat out so we did a little pond fishing ...I say i saw about 30 Lg mouth on the surface of the water 10 ft from shore caught one on a crank and actually saw a gaint about 6-7pounds, but the question is were they just gettin some sun on a nice day or is this prespawn action which i highly doubt in maryland ?

Depends on the water temp, but I'd guess they were just getting some sun. Seems a little early for pre-spawn in MD even with the mild winter we have had so far.

Agreed, sunning themselves. I agree with TB, flukes seem to be the ticket when they are sunning, however, they also tend to be pretty spooky or at least are in the clear water I fish.

whats the water temp? what has the avg. temp been up there the last couple weeks. we're getting close to the full moon, very well could be the early fish getting ready for the spawn.

try using 8 pound test on light spinning gear with white flukes completely wieghtless. sneak up on the bass also and you should get some.
