Do not use silicone as a lube on any part of a reel. It actually acts as a degreaser. Reel Magic, WD-40 and other silicone sprays are basically all the same. KVD L&L makes fluoro more manageable imo.

I pitch crankbaits, worms, and spinnerbaits most of the time and I find Reel Magic and it seems to make my line slicker and comes off the reel nice and easy.
