Cleaning Utility Boxes?
Well my spring re-organization officially starts today! Got a bunch of stuff a cabelas yesterday and it needs to be organized!
But before I start putting stuff into the old, slightly rusty, salty, and oily, utility boxes, I wanna clean em first. I gonna soak them in water and a little bleach last night, but figured soaking it might make them smell like bleach, and I don't wanna put my fishing stuff in something that smell like bleach! So how do you guys clean you boxes? Would water and Dawn get em clean without stinkin em? Thanks for any help!

Thats what I did Sam. I put some dishwashing liquid in the bathtub and added a few inches of hot water and soaked them in that for a few minutes. Then washed and rinsed. They came out like new.

Thank keith. I did the same thing but used biodegradable camp soap I had lying around. I think they turned out pretty good. Got most of the stuff packed away in them now, but still got a few things that need a home!

Hot water, dish soap and a dish scrub brush. Works like a charm except for melted in plastic.

Its amazing how clean a dishwasher will get motorcycle plastics too. We don't even use it but she would still beat me with a stick if she knew that.
