Is this equation right?
Not for sure if this equation is right...Is it Length x Girth / by 1200 to get the weight of a fish?? Can anyone help me? thanks R.S.

I think it's length x length x girth divided by 1200 for a bass. Maybe that's what you meant? Never tried it. I throw them back and when the wife asks "Did you catch any?" I say " Yup, and they were all between 5 and 7 pounds. Also had a 10 pounder pull off."

stumps, its pretty accurate. chuck, its lenght x girth divided by 1200, that site does the math for you so all you do is fill in the measurments in

no its not..chuck is right
example 14(l)x10(g)=140/1200=.116lbs 14(l)x14(l)x10(g)=1960/1200=1.63lbs which one do you think a 14x10in fish would weigh? the correct formula is even listed on the page you linked to |
