Black Eyed Peas - Where Is The Love?

This song has a great meaning, defiantly not some thing you would typically find from a rap; sex, killing people, and drugs. Click here to listen to it. I would almost say it's a christen song, no doubt it explains the world nowa days!

Woohoo! 600th post!

500 to 600 post in one day..... Aiken eating dust right now!

Just kiddin around!

I'm normally listening to classic rock, but My favroite station doesn't come in in my basement where my lure making stuff is... so, I've been branching out a bit.

Right now, I've got a mix of Metallica, Disturbed, Buckcherry, Saving Abel, Hinder, Seether, Puddle of Mudd, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Soundgarden, Rage Againts the Machines, AC/DC, and GnR.

I love Chinese Democracy, but the rest of the new GnR CD is alright.

As of this min. The Yankees pre-season game. Yep, I'm a huge Yankee baseball fan.

I've basically stopped playing music on my car radio these days. I just get the news, then I plug in my MP3 player, which I've also stopped playing music on for now. I've discovered the world of audiobooks that I download from my local library. Now there's a great idea.

Jim, I just finished Tom Brokaw's Boom. Being a Baby Boomer of the 60's it sure brought back a lot of memories. Some good, some not so good.

The only thing that gets me about audio books is how long it takes to listen to them , I read extremely fast and can finish a 400 to 600 page book in 2 ta 3 days so taking a week or so to listen to it here and there kills me a bit . But i enjoy it enough to keep listening to them .

Jim, That's been my biggest problem. The vast majority of people can read much faster then they can speak. Hence, the 600 page book I just finished took more then 16 hours. The play time is actually listed with the book description on the library's web site. That coupled with the fact that they only "lend" you the book for 7 days is a tough nut to crack at times. My max time is 1 hour travel time to and from work, and generally a 1+ before lights out per day. So I need to calculate the max time per book to make sure I can finish it within my time frame.

I can sometimes get a couple hours in a day at work and maybe an hour while at home and that is about it. So it has taken about a month to listen to 4 books out a a 28 book series .

Where are you getting your audiobooks from? Sounds like you have a much longer loan period then I do.

I listened to an audiobook of Huck Finn recently, and while it might be said to be a lazy way to "read" Twain, it was sorta neat how the dialects make you feel like you are there. Then I tried to follow it up with Uncle Tom's Cabin and found the format tedious. I think I should take it on a case by case basis.

I agree with there, you get a different feel for the story when listening to it rather than reading it . I have read all the books in the series I am currently listening to and just thought it would be a different way to enjoy the story and i haven't been let down .
