Ardent Smart Cull
Well it came last night. Ardent is venturing into other things other than reels. The Ardent Smart Cull is a 2 stage culling system. It includes 2 stages that record the poundage & oz. 15 pounds & 15 oz is the max. The balls are made from an impact resistant plastic. The cables are PVC coated cables. With this system you no longer need the plastic slate & grease pencil. You open up the live well & every fish has a weight recorded right on the ball it's self. I went fishing last night. So i headed to the Missouri River to try it out. All fish were released with success with no harm. My harvest included 2 white bass, 3 largemouth & 1 walleye. On the Missouri you never know what you'll catch. No this was not a tournament. But it did give an idea how well it worked. My harvest was good. Because if you are a tournament Walleye fishermen. I found this system worked really well with my 1 walleye. I did find a little trouble with 2 of the balls at first. When i was dialing in the oz. on 2 balls. I found them alittle stiff. After i spinned it a couple of times they loosened up. This product is American made like all of there Products. I find them very well made & affordable. My suggestion is buy the Smart Cull. It will make your culling faster. Which gives you more time to fish.

I like that idea a lot. I saw a similar set earlier in the year but it didn't look nearly as good. The one thing I have a problem with is the metal clips on mine tearing up the mouth, should I run them through the gills? I noticed this system uses the same clips as my current set up.

I pierced the middle lower lip behind the bone. They stayed just fine. My suggestion is keep it out of the corner of the mouth.
