What kind of boat do I have?
So I bought this boat on Saturday and the title says its a 1986 Eagle 16 foot. This cannot be right as I have tried to find this boat and it does not exist. The HIN is a Nebraska Homemade Boats ID as it has a riveted plate to the rear of the boat. Right under this is another ID engraved in the hull that starts with LNZ, which if I'm correct is L and S Manufacturing out of Missouri, which is no longer in business. After comparing my boat to some pictures it sort of looks like a Venture bass boat, possibly a K-155. Did I buy a no namer? Oh and the ranger stickers were put on by a previous owner as a joke, is what I was told. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

that doesn't LOOK like a tin boat, is it glass? could be a GLASSSTREAM, or maybe an ASTROGLASS.

Look up Aero Glass boats on Google. Looks a lot like what you have.

Quite a few of those older boat mfg that are out of business had more or less same boat as someone else glassport was one of those, same 20 ft was made by others under a different name and model number.Suspect the 16 could be any of several mfg.
And some of the same molds available now days for those desiring to hop into the boat business about 10k for a mold. Since title says eagle id call it an eagle, and sort of a no name since defunct. |

16 ft Winner is about the same, and from same era rated 100 hp.Venture compare would be about same.90-100
Providing that lil put put is ok use it till it drops.Motor change always costs bucks and not always needed. With a 90 hp will do 48-50mph all day long, even a 50 hp will clip around 35 in it,not near the weight or wet surface area of water to overcome.Same things that make it so also make it not a big water boat. A few pocket rockets like bumble bee were rated 135 hp and flew, under new management (Phoenix)they rate same boat at 90hp now days. Last edited by lilmule; 07-21-11 at 11:35 AM. |

With the 50 on it now I had it at 32 mph on gps the other day. The motor runs great, besides the lean sneeze/chirp I just noticed. Should be able to adjust the idle screw to fix that. Just good to know what I could do down the road if I need to, or decide to start restoring a few things on it. Thanks for all your help!
