Eagle FishElite 640c or 642c
I'm looking to install a new Depthfinder/GPS combo unit. I have chose to install the device to the right of the drivers side console. I also plan to mount the device on a swivel bracket so that it can be viewed from the up front platform as well. I still need to decide between the external GPS antenna unit or the internal antenna. I don't mind having to drill the additional hole for the external GPS antenna, I have seen alot of boats with this type of set-up. I'm leaning more towards the external antenna design, but would like to hear your opinions and any advantages and disavantages towards these two designs. Thank you in advance for your comments.

woody on the antenna set up.. you don't need the bottom just the top puck part..
they drill a 3/8" ithink hole to run the wire down then just silicone the puck flush.. zooker

Woody, I would go with the external antenna. I've heard that you can lose a signal with the internal. Also, you can use something like this if you didn't want to drill a hole in the boat.
