Tow Vehicle Advice
Would a V6 Explorer be safe enough to tow a bass rig with a tow weight around 1800 lbs, tandem axle and trailer brakes?
Thanks |

I don't think that it would be an issue. I know a guy who used to pull a 25' Checkmate (power boat w/a 502) with an older Chevy ZR2 blazer. He didn't have any issues.

It wont be much fun if your towing up any steep grades, but it should be fine.

1800 pounds? tandem axle? trailer brakes? A 4 cylinder camry could handle that.

A Tracker 16' killed my V6 Explorer, but it was an old truck and there may have been contributing causes. Blew the head gasket.

Dont plan on it getting up to speed fast but yes. Also might need to rev more on a step launch.
