Weekly Lake Fork Fishing Report
Well, the fishing is starting to pick up after the 35 degrees we had Wednesday. The water temp dropped a little but came back up with the warm sun. The wind is the factor right now. The wind is blowing about 25 plus for the next couple of days. The wind is not bothering the fish but it is giving us a fit on where to fish. The fish are making their way back to the beds and soon the banks will loaded with spawning fish. The best baits have been slow moving bait except the lipless crank baits on windy banks. The Wave Tiki Stick fished weightless over the grass and wacky style has been hard to beat. Dead stick the bait and then move it only slightly. The Lake Fork Tackle Ring Fry has been good in the off color water fished very slowly. There are some top water bites but not many. Spinner baits have been working some on windy banks.
The crappie are moving back in to the coves and will soon start to spawn again. The bridges have been producing some fish but hard to get to because of the wind. I still have some May dates open if you are interested in a trip on Fork. Give me a call after &PM. Jim Reaneau 1-888-918-5088 |
