4 Wheelin
Anybody else into mudding, trail riding or rock crawling? Have you guys built the trucks up for it? Right now I'm running 30" michelin mud/snows, but when I get the money, I'm putting a 6 inch lift on it and getting some 35" BFG's. Also, just curious, has anybody here ever built their own winch bumper/bull bar? Any tips, as I'm considering trying to weld one up...

I did it for years with my 78 ford 250 four wheel drive..had the 350 cleveland with 4 speed, witha 26 inch lift and 60's all the way around.
Had it for years, wrecked it on the way home from brookville lake, ran through a telephone pole made of concrete. I had access to family ground where I cut firewood for years, and would play on the roads I'd make in the woods and there were two 20 acre corn fields by the woods...A few of us were banned from bringing our mud caked trucks to work, it would leave dirt all over the parking lot after it dried and fell off the truck. |

ahh yeah nothing like growing a hay feild on the roof of the truck.. i have a 72 f250 red-i think- 8" body lift and a 6" suspention lift. i run 38" mud kings tires. powered by a 396 ford crate moter. the push bar is this funny custom jobby that is also part of the bumper-not just bolted to the bumper-
when getting a winch you need a front reese hitch. this lets you pull the hitch pin remove the winch and put the winch in the reese hitch in the back of the truck.. please note i only use this ride on the coast-where it currantly resides- as the sand roads will hang up a 2 wheel drive in a hurry.. zooker

zooker,
i had that 4-11 gear, I hardly ever got stuck if I could back out in 4 low. Lots of fun, ended up parting out that truck and got my money back. |
