Default Sensitivity

no not that you pervs
is there a way to see if one rod is more sensitive than another? i got a rod as a gift and i havent gotten a chance to use it since its been soo icy and cold and all, (wish i lived down south like lizzy) and i want to compare it to my trusty ugly stik but i dunno if there is a way to test sensitivity without testing it on the water, if you have any ideas or ways you do it any help will be appreciated. thanks

try tying a lure to it and let it hang from the end of the rod, then have someone tap the lure and see how it feels, then compare it to your ugly stick doing the same thing.

I've always notice more sensitivity when you upgrade to better rods, but I've always fished with a finger touching the line, and over the years the line (and braid) makes the strike much more easier to detect...
I make sure all my rods have a space under the reel that allows you to keep in contact with the rod and the blank within.
I fish bionic blades and all star rods.

Hold the rod as you would when fishing and place the rod tip on a friends throat and have him or her recite the alphabet and feel the vibrations that will be transmitted from the vocal chords.

Repeat with the other rod. Keep in mind that both might feel very sensitive, but with good focus and concentration, you should be able to figure or which is more sensitive.

Anyway, this is what my daughter and I like to do when we get dragged along to Wal Mart with the Mrs. Sure beats tagging along in the laundry department.

You know island bass my ex girlfriend tested me when we went to wal mart. She said I passed because I stayed with her and didn't wander off while she spent hours looking at her stuff. Good thing I didn't bass fish back then.
