Well Keith they are very skiddish and if a bird fly's over they dig down in the grass. If a lure lands too close they dig down in the grass. If you drop something in the boat they dig down in the grass. If the wind is blowing the pads around they dig down in the grass. They do not bite after dark. They eat mostly killy minnows and that is about 83% of there diet. However every fish eats them. Now #2 on the food source for LGMouth. They can have up to 5 spawns in the summer. But the number that survive the bluegill and white perch attacks is very low. Once they are about 4 inches the LGMouth eat them until they hit 12 inches. Then the birds eat them like crazy.
They are super fighters and strong as hell. They jump like a marlin sideways 5 to 9 feet. They are tasty. I think if aliens landed in Houston Texas they would be shot for being invasive.. humans as species hate change and will try to make mother nature bend to there will. Silly humans put clothes on there women... Capt Mike
