Young lady who could use our prayers!... Bassin'Gal
During a PMing session Paula had shared this with me;
With her permission I'd like to share a small portion. So, We have had four deaths, three aunts and an uncle, pneumonia, child custody issues and a terminal cancer diagnosis since October. We are ready to crawl in a cave and not come out. The doctors tell us that his dad could have as long as 2 years, if he tolerates the chemo and is able to handle the full series of treatments. The stress hubby is living wiith may be his biggest drawback to a complete recovery. We, too, are people of great faith in God and know that He will not place more on us than we can handle. It just seems He has more faith in us than we have in ourselves at the moment end No family should have to go through so many challenges in such a short time frame! So anglers would you join me in praying for Paula's family to get a break. Paula stay strong and my prayers are with you and your whole family and especially your pop in law and hubby. Your hubby taking 4hr drives to help his father is tuff in itself! God Bless

About 21 years ago, my wife and I were going through pretty much exactly the same thing. Prayer and faith along with good family and friends got us through. I will definately be praying for BassinGal and her hubby!

Thank all of you so much. We realize that there are many more people dealing with much more than we are, but it has seemed to hit us in a giant wave that won't let up. We know that prayer is the greatest gift we can receive at this time.
I do peek in from time to time and have said many prayers on behalf of the ones asking. I hope 1/4 Stick's lady is recovering and my heart hurt for BassBoss and the loss of his grandmother. So glad prayers were heard for Bama and he has found that job. I do think of y'all and will try to update as I can. Thrilled that Mississippi Boy has that new doll to love. I know there are others but can't think of them right off the top of my head. Just know that I do keep all of you in my prayers. Father-in-law has appointment at Vanderbilt on Wednesday of this week and then starts his chemo in Huntsville the following week. Hubby has his doctor's appointment the end of this week. Just praying we get good news on him. I can't handle anything bad happening to him, even if all of the other stuff wasn't going on. Again, thank you for remembering us. |

Thank you Bassin' Gal. Yup, she's recovering very well. One of her kids caught the flu this past week though, hoping the gf don't get it. Yes, prayers work wonders and you & yours will be in mine.

I hope things settle down for you and start looking better. My wife lost a brother last March and her mom (who she was very close to) in May. It's been very hard on her.
Best wishes...'it's always darkest just before the dawn'.

Just a short report. Father-in-law's visit did not produce the results hoped for today. Right now he is miserable, hurting and irritable as an old grizzly. We can't get him to eat and he is losing weight at an almost alarming rate. He is supposed to start chemo next week and if he keeps losing weight he is not going to have the strength for the fight ahead. He really needs prayers right now.
Bama, one of these days we would love to get together and visit with this crazy bunch. Hopefully it won't be too far down the road. Thanks in advance for your prayers! |

B'girl - try to remember that when the quality of life is taken away, sometimes the best solution is the final solution. Years ago, I sat with my dad the last 12 days of his life as the big 'C' slowly took him an inch at a time. A decorated WWII US Marine, He deserved a better, easier end. He now resides in Arlington National Cemetery.

Update on the hubby - He had his physical today and we found the culprit is diabetes. There are going to be some tough lifestyle changes around here!!! He quit smoking back in November when he had pneumonia. Hopefully, the coming months will find us both exercising, eating right and getting fit. If you hear maoning and groaning floating on the wind, it is coming from south cental KY!!!
Update on father-in-law - not good. He is starting to have problems with balance, still not eating and growing weaker. Abbeysdady, I am sorry for the loss of your dad in such a manner. Hubby's dad was a medic in Vietnam so he, too, deserves better. I am just staying in the background and letting the hubby, his dad and mom make the decisions. All I can do is be a shoulder to lean on when they need me and wear my knees out praying for all of us. Thank you all again for your prayers. |

paula, my mother has diabetes and wears the pump. she has had it for over 30 years. lifestyle changes are coming, but it isn't the end of the world. still praying his isn't too bad though.
and i understand what being a shoulder to lean on is. it is hard to sit and watch but stay the rock for them. YOU are the rock for which they will lean on. we are here to help you too. lean on us whenever oyu feel the need. DEAR LORD IN HEAVEN, PLEASE LIFT THIS FAMILY UP INTO YOUR ARMS FOR THEY ARE IN NEED OF YOU STRENGHT. WE HUMBLY ASK IN OUR SAVIORS NAME, AMEN.
