Potatoe Slicing Incident
My second favorite hobby next to fishing is cooking, so my girlfriend buys me one of those mandoline slicers for V-day. The first time using it I'm vigorously slicing a potato and somewhere between the forward stroke and the backward stroke I lose contact with the potato and take the tip of my finger off. Now while I’m curled up on the couch with my hand in a paper towel trying to come to terms with everything, my GF decides to search for the tip of my finger in the potato bowl. As much as it sucked to have done that to myself, her reaction after finding the tip of my finger just may have made it all worth while. I got the finger bandaged up and besides being a little flatter on the end than the other ones it should be fine… You can bet I’ll be using the safety guard next time

Never had the good fortune of de-tipping my finger all the way! Had some nice cuts with them puppies though, that's for sure!

So it works pretty good then? Sorry, I'm a meat cutter and had many run ins with slicers. The last one didn't tell me she was married...bwa ha ha ha.

I work with X-acto knives, Olfa knives and box knives on a daily basis. I manage to cut myself pretty good a couple of times a year. You know it's only a matter of time but nothing prepares you for it.

I've got a flat spot on the heel of my hand from losing contact with an onion on one of those things.
