Loon vs. Rock Bass
I was fortunate to get what I thought were some cool shots of a loon trying to get a Rock Bass Meal this past weekend. My dad and I saw the loon swim underwater real close to our boat and come up with the Rock Bass. We then watched the loon try for a couple minutes to get the fish in position to eat it. Unfortunately(?), we got distracted by my dad catching a fish and me needing to net it, so we didn't see the final outcome. All we saw was the loon swimming peacefully by our boat after getting my dad's fish boated. I say the loon got its meal because we didn't see a floating Rock Bass anywhere around us, but my dad disagrees because he thinks the fish was too big for the loon to swallow. Anyway, here are some of the pics I took.

You seem to get the coolest pics, that's awesome! I bet the loon ate the bass. When I was a kid, we used to throw fresh caught bluegill to the mallards at the park. I was always amazed at how they could swallow those fish that seemed so much bigger than their heads.

More cool pictures with a great story. I would bet that the loon ate the fish, it's amazing how big of a fish that those birds can eat. Either way it's just another great story from your week of fishing with your dad.
