Thanks Fastlaser.
I did some homework and really looked around. I picked up a 165 Eagle G3 with a 50hp Yamaha. It's loaded with everything I need. Like I said, I looked around and from what I seen, this was the best boat for me. I have 7 hrs. on the motor and so far I'm very happy with it. Very good construction and easy to get to items (such as the bilge pump). I guess it's just like buying rifles, everyone has their own opinions and has to purchase what suites them and their needs. One thing I will upgrade is the depth finder. It came through with a Garmin 85. It's OK and just has the basic's but I want something a little better.

I know you can pay more for a boat but why do it when a G3 boat really has it all. There HP series are awsome boats for aluminum. I never thought for a moment in all my years of doing repairs, fishing etc etc that a can boat would be able to run like the G3 does. IMPRESSED BY FAR. IN fact if I was in the market for a new rig the G3 HP series would be right at the top of my list. I've been 72 GPS in there biggest one and was VERY comfortable with the ride PLUS the added durability of aluminum. Very well layed out.

Hmmmm I can picture it now 16ft boat kickin arse against a 150 or a 175 on a 19ft'r. (evil laughter emitting from me right now).

Thank you. I had a 16.5 Nitro but sold it a few years ago and went to a 15 foot Lund. I missed all of the storage and nice casting deck so went back to a glass boat.

I helped the owner put in a Chevy Targetmaster 350 two summers ago. Top speed is about 17 knotts.. But she will dial down with trolling valve down to .7 mph and each click of trolling valve is .1 mph... Perfect trolling machine.

Just traded in a 1993 16 ft. alumaweld w/ yamaha 40hp for a 2004 Triton Tr-186 w/ a Mercury XR6 150hp. Put a brand new minn-kota 80lb. maxuum trolling motor with the built in sonar 2. You can damn near ski using the trolling motor
