Here are some of my favorite pictures from last year, especially the loon ones...
07/31/11 - Fishing with my dad, and we saw this loon take down a rock bass. 07/04/11 - Fishing with my wife, and a loon came up and joined us by fishing right beside our boat. 06/12/2011 - A very rare, completely glassy day on the lake where we have our cabin. This is the no wake zone channel where our cabin is located. 05/02/2011 - Snow from the previous night found our boat while it was up on the lift and under the canopy. 05/29/2011 - Fishing's version of a "double eagle". 06/01/2011 - I love taking our dog, Lucky, out in the boat with us, and he loves it, too! 08/20/2011 - My favorite cloud shot of the year. 09/07/2011 - Any picture from an outing with my Dad (76) is a favorite. One like this on my birthday is even more special! 09/06/2011 - A good smallie night with my dad... 10/08/2011 - Fall colors on a little stretch of shoreline where we caught over 100 fish last year... 10/08/2011 - And another spot of fall color where we had good fishing luck last year... |

What are these "smallies" you guys keep showing pictures of? Do I have to travel to a location where it snows to find one?

The farther north you go, the more you'll see them.

Exactly what lash said. Smallmouth are THE bass to catch, hands down. Nuthin beats watchin a smallmouth launch out of the water, doin everything in his power, to throw that hook, They really are a class of their own. They're tough to catch tho. Much more wiley than a largemouth. There's a couple serious smallmouth lakes near me, but those smallies can be tough to fish

Yeh I was jost joking a little. But I have never seen one. Didn't have them where I lived in Alabama. I never fished while I was in Maine; and I dont think there's any in Jacksonville.

This is a great one Mark. If you throw a lot of standing timber in this picture it would look just like Table Rock.

Damn. I used to have a couple pics I took on a fishing trip to Upper Herring lake. Apparently, those pics are gone.
What made those pics special, other than the scenery themselves, was the fact that I invited Zooker with me that morning. This was after Zooker had left us. At that time, all I had was a lil boat. And by lil, I mean 4'X8" hard plastic shell with 2 seats lol. The night before I went out, I asked Zooker to join me. Usually, I leave the front seat at home, but since I expected Zooker to show, i took both seats that morning. On the way there, you go up the side of a big valley. I was almost at the top when I looked in the rear view mirror. I saw the most incredible, red sunrise that I've ever seen. There was a scenic turnout right near where I spotted this, so I pulled off and snapped a couple pics. It was so incredible, that every pic I took turned out like crap. Then when I was on the water, I just happened to look up at one point. The sun shining through the clouds was probably the best I've ever seen. I knew for sure after those 2 things, that Zooker had decided to plant his big ol *** in my lil boat What really made my mind for me was 2 things: 1- I caught ZERO fish that day. Not a single freakin one 2- Several times, I felt like a fly was buzzin my ear. Yet every time I tried to shoo it away, there was nothing there. I know Zooker was thnere with me that day, and I wish I could reclaim those pics. Up until now, bama has been the only one on this board that I've shared this with. I wish I would have posted those pics at the time. If so, you all could see them
