Weight to Length Ratio
Does anyone have a table with average weights of bass for the length.
EX: A 20" bass on average weighs 4lbs. Thanks |

Fish Weight Vs Length
Here's another site that estimates the fishes weight as a function of the length. You will note that the weights in this table differs from the weights shown in Jim's table.

the average weight of a bass can be determined by:
weight = length x girth x girth or length times girth squared. BB

Largemouth bass use; L X L X G / 1200 = weight in lbs.
L = length measured with mouth closed to center of the fork in tail. G = girth measured widest area around the bass with the dorsal fin down. Don't know the girth; use 75% of the length for average body bass, 80% for heavy body northern strain bass and 90% of the length for Florida strian bass transplanted out side of Florida; California or Texas. |
