My choice hands down is a hard suspending jerk bait. And don't be afraid to use a floating version in shallow flats. They work too. I'd also have a jig tied on, smaller profile for clear water. Say 1/4 - 3/8th oz. And third, I'd have a thin bodied crank bait tied on, similar to a #7 Rapala Shad Rap. With those three set up, I think your good to go.

Drop shot.
I don't worry about the line so much ... braid looks like a weed stem, I believe. Small minnow type soft plastic. Line held tight to reduce movement. Every once in a while, twitch the line just a little. Set the hook when you feel the minnow "twitch" back. |

I am on an old computer with sometimes sticky keys, didnt notice the misspelling.
It is called live impact it is however 4 in but very skinny and when taken out of pkg looks like a ringworm more than anything else.I use the fat 4.8 more often the 3.8 but when hitting nothing and busting all around me eating fry or just tuff they come out,to save the day.I also use a tiny circle hook and hook in head only, looks like a tiny minnow treading water.Bet nobody had me pegged for A FINESSE RIG. Bluegill, watermelon and greenpumkin work for me.It is however slower than powerfishing and one does have to play them on 10 pd braid and a med light spinning outfit.Med would be well suited just what I had to use, without buying a special outfit. |

Long casts! I don't change up much. I got on a spinnerbait bite a couple years ago that was awesome. Visibility was 20+ feet and I was using green braid and chucking and winding and was getting hit on every cast by a smallmouth. I use 10lb FC on my spinning rods and 15lb on my casting rods. Maybe I just catch the dumb fish that can tell the difference in line size. But I fish on some lakes that are gin clear and still boat a lot of fish.
