It's along the same lines as other bands that thought they could survive without founding members when in reality they make a mockery of the careers they had . The remaining members of alice in chains tried , Korn going on without head (who founded the band) and their original drummer , and there are others I'm just to tired to put the effort into remembering them . Without Robert Plant it won't be Led Zeppelin , it will just be a ritzy cover band on a bigger stage .

Smashing Pumpkins, Janes Addiction, Queen, Pink Floyd, The Who, REM...
Jim, this is really disturbing me. I thought for all those years that Led Zeppelin were doggedly holding on to a purity by refusing to tour...and now this? I wish Robert Plant would just give in play along. Or else this bastardization of a great musical legacy will apparently happen...

He was quoted a while back as saying it was to much paper work and red tape to try to tour again . And yeah they are rock royals, but not without Plant . I have a ton of the live BBC recordings they did and listen to them all the time , but could you picture what they would sound like now way past their prime ? There is something to said for a musician that is in the moment and not trying to recapture it , the music just has a different vibe .

he can't hit those notes anymore. it would be sad to hear it anyway. sure jimmy's fingers still go a hundred miles and hour but without the voice along with it it's just not the same. and don't forget the magic that bonham lended to the whole thing.

I thought all of Plant's stuff with Allison Krauss was pretty good. But Zeppelin without Plant or big Bonham just isn't Zep......
