You are probably going to get a lot of answers for each reel you named. But I am a huge Revo fan, they are all I use. I have a lot of Revo sx reels and I have yet to have any trouble with them. They cast a mile and are very smooth and have the best drag system I have ever used.

Sorry, but I have to give you the bait monkey answer. Your bait monkey told me that you need one of each.
If I had to choose, it would have to be either the curado or the zillion. I might lean toward the zillion only because I already have curados. Pardon my french but I ain't brand loyal and those zillions look awesome. Nothing against Revo at all. I wouldn't mind adding one to my arsenal some day.

In this order: Zillion, Revo, Curado.
The Zillion is a great reel. Great performance, and very refined. Not to mention, it is one of (if not THE) most comfortable reels to palm on the market. I love the fact that you can get a Zillion in any gear ratio to fit your needs - 4.9:1, 6.3:1, 7.1:1, and 7.3:1. While I have never used any middle of the road Revos, I've used the Skeet Reese, and I've used Abu's Silver and Pro Max reels. All are good reels. And the new SX looks freakin awesome! If the budget's tight, I'd go with the curado. You can find them on ebay pretty cheap. I've never used one, but I own a citica. It's not a bad reel for the price, I just like my Daiwa's better. The citica's not the smoothest reel, doesn't have two bearings supporting the spool shaft. I have not tried it with light lures yet (it's my jig fishing reel, so 3/8oz and up). But overall, I agree with IB. You definitely need one of each! BB

Never used any Diawa reels. I would go with the Curado over the Revo you mentioned. If you might consider a STX then maybe either one. I like them about the same. I haven't tried out my newer model Curado yet. After I do I might change prefrences.

Interesting that you would only consider a Revo if it was an STX. I have all Revo sx's because I prefer them over the STX. I have used the STX on several occasions and I honestly feel that the sx is a better handling reel, or at least it performs better for me anyways.

I'd go with the zillion in the reels that you've got mentioned there.
But otherwise (I hate to add more to the madness but...), I think the Daiwa HSTA* would be better then both the SX, or the Curado. Need more convincing? Curado: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshimanocuradoe5.html Revo SX: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewaburevosx.html HSTA: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewdaiw...ge153hsta.html And the zillion if you've not yet read it: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewdaiwazillion.html And if you're gonna be considering an Revo STX: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewabugarciarevostx.html *If you've got small hands, than the HSTA may not be the best option, it's a wider reel, and maybe hard for you to palm. I've handled it and it seems very comfy to me too. Check it out first.

Lost confindence in dawai years ago, too many failures (not cheapies) haven't touched once since the eighties and probably won't. Abu's and Shimanos are my preference.
Just my opinion, but once I have problems with something more than once I seldom return. |

I just picked up a flueguer patriarch, and while am realtively new to baitcasting, I absolutely love it. It is smooth as silk, and the dual braking allows me to adjust the spool control to a ridiculous presion. At $200 it won't break the bank either compared to some of the reels you have mentioned. Just my opinion, I haven't fished any of the other ones. Just as I said, I am relatively new to baitcasting.

Bottom line is all three (or 4 if you count the Flooger) are good reels. Pick whichever one feels the best in your hands. I don't think you can make a wrong decision, this, as they say, is a good problem to have.

The Shimano Curado 200e7 is #1 in both versatility and value. $145 is ridiculously good for a reel of this caliber ($145 on eBay, that is) and, this reel can do everything! Toss extremely light lures, rip bass out of cover with 11lbs of drag pressure. Revo has 24lbs of drag pressure? No one needs that much. Catfish guys catch 50lb fish with 14lbs of drag pressure regularly yet we need 24lbs to drag a scrawny bass out of weeds? Pfft!

Yup! Right on Joe! All of them are good reels some may be better than others, but not by much(HSTA!! ).. except for the zillion, much better reel there, but it's also 100 bucks more!

I have a few of the Curados, a couple Zilions, and had a Revo SX. The Zillion feels best in my palm but overall I live the Curado better so far. I've only gotten to use the Zillion a few times so I might not have it tuned in quite right yet. They are both very nice reels. Maybe the SX I had was a bad one, but I couldn't get it to work right so I sold it.
Whatever reel you get shop around, there are deals on them all. You can find the Curados for ~$140 and the Zillions I found were $100 off. |

I have both the Curado and the Revo SX. They are both great reels. But I think it would depend on your skills with a baitcaster. Because of the breaking system on each reel.
-The Curado has a centrifugal break so it is a little easier to cast but you don't get the same distance. The Curado is the one that is slightly just slightly more comfortable to palm. (for me) -The Revo SX casts longer but requires more thumbing then the Curado. This reel is very smooth. The Revo is a very smooth reel. THIS place has pretty good prices on reels |

I would say the Revo's seem to have the smoothest drag system and the quietest reel systems.
