You cannot go wrong with a Ranger bass boat - as long as their isn't an Evenrude hanging on the back. The Ranger is probably the top-of-the-line, especially the Z-line, when it comes to ride, quality and holding their value. The only negative (and it's really a small one) would be they are not known as the fasted boat on the water - they run, just won't out run a lot of other bass boats. But I'd take the ride, handling and overall quality of the Ranger boats as much more important considerations. And as for the Evenrude, if it's a good price that's would not be a deal breaker, I just happen to be loyal to another brand.

I have an Evinrude on mine and it's been great! It's smooth and very quiet. Starting in 2002 Bombardier took over and their engines have been much more reliable. If it does have an Evinrude take it to an Evinrude dealer and have them give you a complete engine history. Thats what I did with mine and it had 3 minor issues in 350 hours. Mine is a 2003 btw.
