Joe thats a tough one but personally I'd certainly be willing to wait. I know exactly WHAT I want in a rod and even though a pre-made custom would be fantastic, I'd prefer to wait however long to get the rod of my dreams. As a matter of fact being a realist I have already begun a slush fund so that when I don't win I'm gonna get Walker to build it for me anyway. IF

***EDIT*** I just got off the phone with Kevin and he says he's gonna match the pot and throw in a $400. Tackle Warehouse Gift certificate
so the winner can get a nice reel worthy of the custom!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only way to go is WINNER CHOICE!

Maybe one angler wants a baitcaster and another a spinning setup.
There is NOTHING like being involved in a custom build!
Maybe someone wants an obnoxious color or some crazy other idea.

If the winner wants a pre-made than he/she can easily sell the once in a lifetime opportunity and go to TW instead.

Oh, dibs on the chance to BUY winners build!!!

Again this is just my idea but when Ken arranged the build and the idea was presented to Walker, I beleive the whole concept wasn't to get a pricey rod but a NELSON CUSTOM!
I could be wrong though?

I think we can all sigh a sense of relief that Lisa chose not to enter. If she had, we may as well have given it to her now. We wouldn't have stood a chance.

But seriously, I'm in, as long as you don't get rid of Smallies. To be honest, the primary Smallmouth water I fish (Dale) is where the world record was caught, and thus the State record is 11-15 as well.

As the Indiana state Largemouth is only 14 lbs...I probably stand just as good of a chance of catching a 75% Largemouth in Indiana, as I do catching a 75% Smallmouth in TN.

Personally I'm fine letting the rules stand as posted. I'm not scared of a high % smallie or a low % smallie angler
