Are you looking for a retriever? Labs are great water dogs. If you mean baits all mine are frozen, none fresh.

Retrievers and labs are great 'gator bait in my neck of the woods, but I don't think WTL was looking for that.

I remember catching waterdogs from under the concrete "sea wall" in front of my friends house. A minnow on a hook dangled right at the base of the wall and you'd get hit. If you were lucky, you'd get it out without breaking off.
But, I was too young to think about using a 10 to 15 inch longer salamander as bait.

Ugly F*($ers, too.
