Local Wildlife
Just wanted to share a video that I was able to capture with my camera phone (sorry about the quality) of a large Red-tailed hawk eating a rabbit he caught.
I was at work when I seen this, I could not believe how close this bird let me get to it to take the video, this bird was amazing.

Large birds of prey are so neat to watch up close....A buddy of mine is a master falconer and one of the only people in Arkansas licensed to deal with bald eagles.....I love watching him mess with them.....Beautiful animals.

Thats very cool. I've watched this play out in my back yard a couple times with a sharp shinner hawk. It's always amazing to watch mother nature in action.

Very cool Tony! Really neat to watch them eat.
We get hawks around in the winter grabbing birds trying to stay warm on our porch, lol. BB

Cool video Tony. I can't believe that you were able to get that close to the dinner table.

You can't see it real clear in the video, but he was def. getting a little uncomfortable with me, he kept puttin the googly eye on me. I have to admit, that bird was big enough that he did put a little concern in me.

Birds of prey often let one within close range,I imagine he was hungry.
I carry a camera not a video rec but get pics all the time of osprey, and bald eagles. While in the boat. They tend to fish better than me often. |
