Just a shout out from boredom
Well, we are still sitting down here off the coast of Tuxpan. We had to jack the rig back out of the water due to rough weather coming. You gotta love when people tell you one thing and you get there, and find out it is nothing closer to the truth. I got called down here and told it would be a 10-12 day tow on the rig back home and I would make it back home to be with my wife and boys for Christmas. They said the tugs are waiting to tie up and bring y'all in. I get down here, Friday will be 2 weeks, and we have been under tow since Wednesday night. We are moving at the speed of smell, thank you Ron White for the analogy, at a blistering 2.5 knots. We have a tow of 1050 nautical miles, and we have logged 350 of them in almost a week. But now we are stationary, so nada is on the horizon for the next few days. Man I wanted to be home for a change, but Santa doesn't seem to come if Daddy doesn't work much. Coincidence, hmmmm. Maybe I will make it home before the event in May. Hope to see y'all there.

You too brushhog!
I got to thinking about this post and I want you guys to know I feel a little selfish. When we have men and women overseas supporting the right for us to get on here and blab. Also, we have a lot of people out of work and wondering what week to week is going to be like. Not to mention the strain of pleasing loved ones through what we have made a commercial holiday. But I know I am not the only one, and thank goodness I have set times, sometimes, when I know I will return home. Those guys might be there a while and have missed a bunch of holidays, births, etc. But to our vets, ones currently inlisted, and those struggling through hard economic times, God bless you and Merry Christmas.

Amen, bruthah....give them their props. But you are still allowed to miss home and gripe a little.

I agree with Nofear, sometimes you have the right to feel selfish.
