Some bad news.
Well I got back from Port Aransas a couple days ago as some of ya'll know, and trip was great. Caught some decent fish, had a great time with the family. But on the last night there, someone popped the lock on our truck, and took everything. My father and I have over $3000 in tackle that is now gone. We filed a police report and are waiting for something to hopefully show up, although i doubt it. The officer told us that because we did not have an "aftermarket" alarm system the thieves got in with no problem, just a screwdriver up the drivers door handle.
Well I didn't come here to grieve about my loss, but more to get the word out to WATCH your stuff. I know most fisherman like me invest alot of money in the sport they love. You dont want to go through what I am right now. Be careful, TB PS: just found out about Lasers stuff too. Damn thieves!!! Last edited by texasbasser; 06-25-08 at 02:53 PM. |

So sorry, Texas. 1FASTLASER just went through the same thing two weeks ago and we started a fundraiser to get him back on his feet. Hopefully we can pull a little extra and get you runnin' again too!
Keep up hope, |

My home owners insurance has covered the robberies I've had in the truck and on vacation, check your policy. The biggest one was from the boat in a marina, I had a check for 1500 for 5 rods in 3 days

sorry txbasser, we ALL NEED TO BE CAREFUL GANG. i was at the state park last weekend and someone sucked out over a $100.00 bucks of gas outa da cajun. of course the park rangers will keep an eye out.....sure pal. so be careful out there gang. gas prices are outa the roof as well as tackle, so keep a look out ok? i am gonna just buy a couple of 5 gallon cans worth and store it in my truck, at least that way they have to leave some prints when they break in my truck. hopefully they'll make enough noise to wake up someone.

Tb, that is a horrible feeling, I've been through similar... not tackle though. It's just a fact of life there is always some degenerate out there looking to rip the good folks off. Definitely have Dad check the homeowners policy.

Gas.... the rising gas prices is provoking major chaos! With lower class individuals barely making the standards of living in descent conditions, lower calss ind. are willing to do anything. (Join gangs, steal, sypher gas from vehicles). Also, the rising cost of food is making violence immenant. VILOENCE IS GOING TO HAPPEN as long as this crisis is happening! Be careful! Be Cautious! and most important of all... BE Safe!! -stevo

Many have got smart at removing gas from cars. Most cars can't be siphoned. So they just use a drill on the tank to get it with a tub to collect it. This happening allot around me.

some ppl here are taking 18 wheelers like car haulers for racing and parking over the man hole to the main tank and siphoning it out.. and people are de-activiating the alarms in the stores and pumping 200-300 gallons into big trailers
