The cost of the vehicle will be the least of his concerns.
Getting vehicle out....huge money. Dnr polluting fines, huge money. Dnr clean up in the spring, huge money. ALL the vehicle owners expense and usually given THREE days or extra fine PER DAY penalty. Find a tow service that will pull out on ice for under$2000...it's your lucky day after all. Good way to clear the Ice though. I've seen a few go in. Everyone scatters. In reality the guys lucky to be alive. Standing on ice that close to a week spot....suicidal. Notice no one came anywhere close. When a truck goes through the ice 'cracks' so LOUD the sound alone freaks you out.
