Default Computers & Windows 7

There must be many people out there who are more computer literate than I am. Could one of you please recommend a tutorial on Windows 7 ?

My previous PC has crashed so I had to buy a new one (with Windows 7) and parts of the Win 7 software are driving me looney! It's frustrating because I know what I want to do under the old Win XP, but the new op system is fighting me all the way.

Thanks

We have been using winders' 7 for over a year now and its almost like any other internet explorer plus some of Mozilla Firefoxs tab feature.
Biggest dif. you will see are the tabs when you open the internet for each page, if you click on one you can go to another internet site, actually what is happening is you have two windows open at the same time, you can click back and forth for viewing. You can add many other pages open to if needed.
The tools and page safety tabs are a little dif. if you are looking for print or other icons.
Another neat feature is the bottom right of your screen you can now enlarge the text or viewing page, then easily change it back.
If I were you I would open internet explore, than experiment with each icon and tab on the top of the page and see where microsoft has
changed the location of some of the features.
Another change on some windows seven explorer is the history is deleted every time you shut down windows.
IMO micro soft took features from firefox that were so popular and put them in windows 7.

One thing I like about the new operation systems is the computer shuts down much faster than other versions.

A great deal of IE 7 now lacks what used to be in them, such as java, win runtime etc.
Research the net for whats neded, and of course win data base.
Without the extras its slow, pay att to plug ins needed bar at top of the pages, like reader etc.
Above all get some sort of virus remover even a free one.
Mozilla as a browser generally picks up less problems.

Thanks friends...

I'm doing ok with the Internet explorer portions of this, as it is similar to Mozilla that I was accustomed to.

The part that I find so confusing so far, about windows 7, is the file structure and the use of libraries, which is a new windows feature.

Maybe someone else knows where to get help on this. The included help screens are some benefit, but I sometimes get lost in the terminology.

Cassidyta, that looks like enough to keep me occupied for at least a week. Thanks & I'll get back to you as needed.

Ok, thanks SB. It's making more sense now than it did a week ago, so maybe there's hope for me yet.

Most of Windows has not changed much... but it is all the tweaks under the surface that they made with Vista that put a brick wall around the lake we usually fish in... just need to find a way through or over that wall to get to what you want
