Default Good and Bad

Last weekend was a rough weekend for LGMouth. A total of three LGMouth made it to the boat for 16 hrs of slinging baits.
My Saturday Charter had a learning curve.. The casting got better, but the catching was never practiced. Darn two fish lost at boat and a big storm during golden hour cut the catch rate down.
Sunday with three lines in the water and some more experiance in this crew we got three in the boat.

And this one.

The third was so small I refused to photo it.
Thats fishing..

Mike I was just wondering how many years you have been guiding, and would like some of those wonderful stories about some of your worst trips, and some of your best trips. You have got to have one of the hardest jobs in the world. I believe most seasoned bass fisherman usually go by themselves, or realize what it takes to get on and catch fish are easy to get along with. However I'm only guessing here, that most of your clients are not what I would call seasoned, and expect 50 fish, all around 5 lbs each for any given day?

I started when I was 12 years old as a mate on a head boat out of Tampa Bay Fl. I spent two summers there living with Granddad and fishing six or seven days a week. Each morning at 4am I would ride my bike down to the docks and start hauling ice for the day.

In 1974 I got a summer job in Cheasapeake Beach MD as a mate on a trolling boat. Two summers I did that till the boat was pulled for repower and never went back.

In 1989 I was fishing Poor Boys Bassmaster series and some Redman here and there and decided to sit for my 6-pak Capt License and in 1992 I was hanging my shingle out at every marina around to drum up business.

16 years so far and have only had maybe two bad trips. Have had many no fish trips. But it is not about catching fish or even almost catching fish. It is about teaching and having fun at the same time. Fish on the line is a bonus for me and the smiles and high fives make me very happy.

Stories have been posted of memorable trips so just do a search and enjoy.

Capt Mike your humble fishing guide at your service.
