BPS gift cards....Although,I always feel like gift cards are a cheap cop out.
If their like me (hopefully not) they'll appreciate anything fishing related...I dont how they fish to give you precise products....But it doesnt matter what I get...If its a lure that Ive already got 3 of,Im still happy

Or tell them to go to Tacklewarehouse and pick out a couple baits they're interested in and make the purchase. Over $50 and you get free shipping.

I'm with Waffle on the gift card, but I would rather have the gift card when it comes to fishing stuff. I good ole set of nice multi-pliers always comes in handy for the tackle box.

What do they fish for?
I prefer to give a thoughtful gift, rather than a gift card, here it's over with. See what they fish for, gear them up accordingly. |

What does he like to fish with? If he's into worms, than get him a few packs of some cool worms, some quietly hooks, and a pack or two of tungsten!
Same thing goes with anything else, if he like cranks, get him some good cranks! Spinnerbaits, get him some good spinnerbaits! I could go on, I think you get it! Merry Christmas!

I used to always get thoughtful gifts like walking worms, banjo minnows and stuff that I wasnt really high on using. Appreciated the thought, but gifts cards are a pretty sure bet to be liked.
I also think the old time sensibilities against giving money or gift cards are getting reversed. Here is an interesting read from Mr George Will http://jewishworldreview.com/cols/will112609.php3 |

The funny thing is,my grandma (who has alzheimer) buys us the funniest gifts..One year its a shirt with a cartoon picture of a doughnut hiding from the cops.....next year its a cap gun? How could I ever replace grandma's bizarre gift giving? My favorite gifts are still the thoughful ones.Especially when someone knows you...Whether its my friend in Austin who mails me a package of plactic toy hamburgers labeled ''Meat Basket'' or the other friend who buys me the VHS copy of ''OVER THE TOP'' Because they know Ill piss myself laughing. Over the top.....a movie were truckers compete in arm wrestling....pure gold!!

Personally, I don't mind gift cards. I'd rather get gift cards than something I'm not going to use. I think Tackle Warehouse (tacklewarehouse.com) has gift cards 10% off right now. I could be wrong though...

Cabelas, Gander Mt, Bass Pro, Tackle Warehouse gift cards. A local retailer would be better, so shipping isn't part of the equation.

I prefer gift cards for fishing tackle, BPS or Cabela's would be your best bet. Makes that spring tackle rush a little bit easier on the wallet.

BI has a good point about shipping, if there's a local shop, stick with those gift cards. If not, I'd go with tackle warehouse, and tell them if they spend their money in the same order, they'll get free shipping (over 50 bucks on TW).

What I like to get for Christmas the most if by far Money! Why risk getting them something that don't want? If you give them cash, than you'll have the freedom to spend it on what they please! That way he can get the tackle he wants for sure! And if he's into other stuff, than, he can have the responsibility of budgeting his money, if he like video games, than he'll have to decide how much he wants to spend on games, and on fishing stuff!
