Offshore vs Bass fishing
The last couple years I have got the blue water fever. Darn good thing because I have discovered some awesome tools and techniques. Offshore bite beads was something I now use every day fishing. This new trick is really good. I tested on a 150 lb butterfly ray this spring and it works.
So many people show up on my boat with flouro leaders on braid line. The standard is the uni knot and I embrace it. But perhaps you decide that uncle Henry willed fortune sends you the Great Barrier Reef and you have 50lb braid and a 50 lb leader to a speed jig. Well let me tell you there is an answer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xZjRw_BhXU Awesome knot.. Capt Mike

Like 50 loops, twists, hitches - holy crap!
That smells of a "fly fisherman" I'll stick with the Bimini Twist or just have a snap swivel between the main line and leaders for and easy change. Knots are getting nutz, old Peter Sebile must have a lot of time on his hands to have come up with that one. I could not tie that knot anyway as my teeth are too crooked to bite the tag end of the leader, for me that would require an assistant to tie. WAIT - if I can't do that due to crooked teeth, that makes me handicapped. NOW I can get one of those parking stickers. |

It is from long wind on leaders used in speed jigging. Or any time you need the knot to fly thru the guides..
Crazy ain't it. Capt Mike
