Lets leave relatives out of this shall we.
Your just jealous as not everyone has their own team or shirts and caps with logos.

Not exactly original just a different slant than team grandma
Besides Ive heard nofear will even fish in Tn,so double trouble.

I just read something about public waters? Almost all my fishing is done on a private lake. Last year I probably only fished 3 or 4 times not on this lake. It's 500 acres with approxiamtely 500 lakefront houses and you have to be a property owner to have a boat on the water. Technically, the water is owned and managed by the Iowa Department of Natural resources, but there is no access to the lake except through ramps owned by the home-owners association.

Reading this made me think about a small farm pond in Missouri that I used to fish. I caught the bass in my icon picture from that farm pond; the bass was probably over 5 pounds (I released it without weighing or measuring) ...it was an amazing pond. Even though it was only an acre or two, it was 14 feet deep (fairly deep for such a small pond) and fed by natural springs. The guy who owned the farm was a poker buddy of mine, and he only fished in the pond for crappie. I used to have a key to the padalock for the gate from the road, then you had to follow a lane that wound through almost a mile of corn fields. Unfortunatly my buddy died in 2002. I wouldn't be surprised if no one has fished this pond in over 10 years!

(No, I won't be fishing any private farm ponds for the contest.)

I've got an idea for keeping the contest entry thread(s) clear and uncluttered.

Ever month the judge creates a new thread. Have "March Big Bass Thread", an "April Big Bass Thread", a "May Big Bass Thread", a "June Big Bass Thread" etc... all the way to the end of the contest.

In the OP of each thread, refer a link to last months thread and at the end of every months thread (once that month is over), add a referral link to the current months thread!

Makes it much easier than paging through a 15 page thread IMO!

Yay, Nay?

That's a good idea Sammy. I've been meaning to start a new thread with all the weights from all states in participation. I just haven't done it yet, I really need to though. I will work on it tomorrow while I'm slacking off at work. I will definitely keep it as a fish post only thread. One for every month might be a good way to break it up.

Most (or all?) of what you need might be back in post #141 of this thread.

This is a prime example of where someone with admin/mod capabilities would be helpful. A thread with only contender fish but since that's not going to happen Joe we'll leave it up to you to figure something out. Push come to shove I don't mind flipping through a few pages to find out who's who. John asked me to start a new "clean" thread, so I started this one.....we can see how well that worked out. I'm sure we'll manage.

**edit** Just for fun for the past couple of years I've been stealing peoples identity. Then I've been slowly paying of their past due debt and judgements, opening new accounts and keeping them current and raising their credit scores substantially........it's fun

Just a sugestion cause I'm not sure how many folks here use facebook, but we could create a page for the contest alone.

Illinois
Large.....209
Small.....103

Just so everyone knows, Wi. LM was set 12/10/40 and SM was 6/21/50.

I will have to say though, that Illinois SM record could be a money maker.

As always, don't trust a Wisconsinite's math.

Lake Okoboji in northwest iowa is an absolute smallmouth factory and with a state record of 7.5 pounds I'm going to try to get up there this year. Okoboji Eagle has already mailed me a map with some of his favorite spots! Okoboji is home to Berkley and is a favorite small mouth lake of some pros who can fish anywhere in the country. A 5 pounder isn't uncommon - that's a 65% fish. Look out!

Got confused on one of the posts from the last page. Private waters do count right?

Ok, I was worried there for a second. Thought I might have gone from have very little chance, to no chance at all.
