Nice bass! Looks like you were braving some bad weather to get him.

"Nice bass! Looks like you were braving some bad weather to get him."
Bender, the weather was rough. It rained very hard and the wind became so strong that at one point, it began blowing my boat upriver. "Nice smallie! Congrats on #100" Thanks Bryan. I know that for most you, 100 fish per season is not much of a milestone. However, for me, between work and kids, 100 is a good #. "Nice smallmouth. Did you get him from a river or a lake? How did you catch him? Details man, details!!! LOL" Keithdog, This Delaware River smallie "ate" a Rapala DT-4 bluegill pattern. Interestingly, the fish were not in the deeper water. Instead, the successful pattern was running the trolling motor up and down the bank in the current and throwing DT-4s and DT-6s parallel to the bank. We kept running and gunning and would work our way to just before the rapids. That is why I have my vest on in the picture. We would run the boat along the bank and just before hitting the rocks in the fast current, I would start the jet and "get outta' dodge" and then start the process all over again. "W2BF, Congratulations! Looks like you took a dive for that smallmouth." Woody, I got drenched from the rain. My recollection is that the rain was the remnants of some Hurricane. I did not dive for the smallmouth, the smallmouth dove for my Dives-To Crank. "Congrats on a real nice fish." Basscrazie, thanks. Some guys are catching 20 inch river smallies this time of year. I haven't caught any in the 20 inch club this season. |

Chubs, during this winter, I intend to intermittently post pics from this past season (still learning how to post the pics . . . the wife helped me with this one)
Good luck with the ice fishing. You are more manly than I am. Once it is cold, the boat goes away and I stay in the house. |

backlash, thanks for the compliment. Although there was lots of rain and strong winds, the weather wasn't that cold. My notes in my fishing journal indicate that the high for the day was 65 degrees. I always say . . . I don't mind the cold and I don't mind the rain . . . but I do mind when it is cold and raining.

I am honored to be photoshopped by JB. I may be listed as a "Veteran Member" but I still haven't been truly initiated with a JB chop shop pic.

JB,
Once again, you have surpassed my expectations. Great work!!! I think your photoshop picture would be a great cover for a book. |
