Been saving this for a while and had to bring it out.....isn't meant to offend or hurt feelings but search "unpainted crankbaits".

Another site that I often use is Staminainc.com and you can find all kinds of lure building supplies there. I know they have unpaited bodies. I'm looking at some right now in their catalog which you can have sent to your home. I've noticed they offer more from their web site than they show in their catalog.

Stamina and Jann's as mentioned above, also try LureCraft. Also try the "tackleunderground" website. It's a forum similar to this but strictly for lure making.

BnC - Got ya. But can you really "trust" these guys opinions???
I'd just take a look at the Googled sites and then come back with "Which do you guys prefer....Bob's vs Joe's....Has anyone had any problems with either? Etc." At least you've done a little home work. Kind of like my recent post asking for the maker of Lucky Craft hooks. I asked because I couldn't find it on the site or on the box. I really didn't get a definate answer so I went back and looked again. Took me a little while but that time I found the answer (VMC but sharpened by Daiichi). Also some of the "senoir" members get tired of seeing the same posts over and over and over and can be very.... impersonal... with their responses. Sometimes you'll find the answer to a question using "Search" too. |

BnC-I order most of my stuff from Stamina, BUT: They have a bad habit of stuff being out of stock/backordered. I ordered some spinnerbait heads in November of '06 and they ate STILL out of stock.

I'd love to get into making my own lures, but that would be like taking the baitmonkey to an all he can grab fishing stuff buffet that I'd have to pay for. (I don't really know how this is different from already built tackle, but I think it is...)

I think it's a good idea to try and make ur own crankbait atleast once. It really helped me understand the action and how to manipulate it.
