Last year I used Bass Pro XPS and P-Line Florocarbon and liked them both. On my spinning ultralight there were some issues of it jumping off the spool at the end of a cast. I just stocked up on P-Line Halo so we will see how it works out this year.
It does seem that I catch more fish using floro than braid and I don't like the stretch of mono so I didn't use it last year. (except for cranking) |

At least you went back partially to Braid Just a suggestion dg, but why not try out some Fireline It is a great line, almost impossible to break, and once you break it in, it's like candy. Just watch your fingers, because it will slice right through them if you wrap your fingers, toes, weeds, lilly pads whatever around it Lizards

I use to use Fireline all the time but I seem to get more bites on Fluorocarbon. I use to use Stren Fluorocarbon but they don't make it anymore. I'm still serching for a new favorite. Eric |

i fish real clear water here in pa.have been for 40 years..i cant see where bass see your line..yes, trout do but bass,NO..
the line i use that works is trilene xl for spinning and trilene xt for baitcasters.. i was throwing jig/pigs on 6 pd xt, yes 6 pd xt line yesterday and caught 11 bass, some 4 pds..i even tried to break it off a limb i caught my jig on, i would not break, almost cut my hand..i had to pull the limb up from bottom.. i guess what i am trying to say is, all these new lines are not necessary..like they say fluro does not stretch..who cares, i dont.. i can feel bass for 40 years on trilenes etc..dont get all into lines etc.. i seen over 40 years of fishing a bass, bigones, caught on k mart line, 20 pd in clear water on a nightcrawler.. trust commanc,i see no difference on lines in clear water and dirty water .. BASS ARE NOT LINE SHY ,BEEN THERE AND DONE IT.. |

Recon - that was great line... my Dad used to fish it and swore by it. I haven't seen it in a long time. I'll ask my Dad if it is still around although at his age and medical condition he doesn't fish much anymore he still talks to a lot of guys who do...
