I have Kistlers, St Croix, Airrus and one Lightning. Started off with the St Croixs'. Got a Kistler LTA for 25% off. The Airrus (2) were on markdown at Cabelas. Bought the Lightning at Wally world because I needed a rod fast one day. Those are casting. Spinning I have All Star, St Croix and a bunch of Ugly Stix from years ago. All 3 brands of casting (not the Lightning) I enjoy using. Like the one post said use what you like. I need one more rod for flipping and it's between a Kistler and a Shimano. I am going to put the new Revo STX I got today from Gander Mt. I had a 20% off coupon. So it cost me about $164. Couldn't pass it up.

Hey AKM, are those "Star rods" a BPS brand ? I've got a couple for crankin and they are great rods. Wippy tip, strong back bone.
BPS Crankin rods are good as well. These things take a beating but still perform. I've got some St.Croix's, Shimanos, Quantums, and some All-Stars. These rods are fine for what they are designed to do. I've recently got some Loomis rods, a 906 (rattle-traps) and an srb812 (spinnerbaits). These are good rods, but I am not that wild about spending that much for a fishin pole. At least now I can get a shirt and a hat that says Loomis !
