The 2015 bass fishing season.
What if anything do you plan to changed, try, or do differently in 2015 when it comes to gear or technique? I'll get this started.
For 2015, I plan to have a jig tied on and ready most of the time. While I have used jigs for years, I plan to focus on them and use them more tis year than ever before. In fact, I am getting a rig just for this. I am also getting a medium light spinning rig to use for lighter finesse applications, which I have rarely done in the past.

I started working on it hard this year, but next year I will continue to work on developing my finesse fishing skills. Ned Rig has been lights out this year.

I'm not familiar with the Ned rig. Or at least it does not sound familiar.

I need to get a good depth finder. I want to focus on ledges and points. Also have to teach the girlfriend new methods so she can do more than a chatterbait. She caught a 6lber on one and that's all she wanted to throw this year.

Spinnerbaits and Swimjigs might be a natural transition from the Chatterbait. I can't blame her for liking the Chatterbait, I caught some good fish for me on them this year as well.

When you see what it is you are going to think to yourself that is the Ned Rig, I promise you, if you try it, you will be amazed.

When you've exhausted your research about Ned rigs spend some time studying about Charlie Brewer's slider fishing... similar finesse concept.
I may fish my version of a bou-tube (Paul Jensen idea) more often next season. I caught some nice mixed bags of smallmouth and walleye with it this year. It had been a couple years since I'd offered them this bait. Also I'm working on getting a rod/reel combo ready to keep spinnerbaits more available to throw. oe |

I will continue doing the same thing. I do want to go fishing more and maybe try a few new places.

I am with Thornback ... I won't change a thing. I spend a lot of time fly fishing, these days. But I still pick up the conventional gear and go deep into cover for big bass. I like my style of fishing, and it's catches enough fish to keep me VERY happy.

I'm not sure what I would change for the new year. I do know that I want to get out more. I missed 4 days of pre-fishing for tournaments this year and it showed. I just want to fish.

But, there is always room for improvement. And for me it's in my adaptation to finesse fishing. You see, I'm more of a power fisherman in my approach, and I have a hard time putting down my casting gear and picking up my spinning gear, so to speak.

Same way here for me too. I have to force myself to slow down to use finesse. And for me, it's hard. But that is my goal this year.
