A big swimbait. I troll 1 oz shad colored ones for stripers, and they produce. What kind of swimbaits seem to produce the most bass?

You will see alot of west coast guys throwing the big swimbaits for the big toads. Anyone who throws a swimbait knows the 1 of the most all around effective swimbaits is the Huddleston. Comes in a variety of colors and rates that it will fall or ROF. I think swimbaits are awesome. I personally havent caught any BIG fish yet but have had a few 5s-7s. You better go to the gym if you plan on tossng these around....
I have had 90% of my big fish come on either a JnP or plastics of some sort. I would have to say a 1/2oz to 1oz Jig and Pig has got to be the most versatile big fish bait out there today. Nothing better in the world as a fish that just crunches your jig so hard it rattles your bones. At clear lake you dont go out without a jig rod.... |

Big Flukes, big topwaters, big PNJ's. There isn't just one answer to this question. The world record didn't come on what I would call a big bass bait. The biggest fish I ever caught was on a PNJ, but it was because I threw it at the right place at the right time IMO. , the next three in line of size all came on a big Fluke(all over 10 lbs). Bigger baits will usually catch catch bigger fish, but your numbers of fish go down. Probably the alltime big bass bait has to be a LIVE Shiner.

its like a minnow grub, with a variety of tails, like a paddletail. here is an example of one brand, this is soft plastic, they also make hard plastic ones and jointed ones
a lead head jig that is usefull either swimming it like a crankbait, or more effective way is to let it sink to bottom and jump it back or swim and let it fall back to the bottom |

AKM, the Storm swimbaits are small, maybe 1-4 inches long. Out west where Deacon is they use big ones, and I mean BIG-6 inches and up that weigh up to half a pound or more.

A "BIG" swimbait here is NO smaller than 6 inches. I have a few that are round the 10-11 inch mark and weigh a few ounces. Depends on size and style. Also as i said big jigs....weighing 3/4- 1.5 oz. Bigger the bait bigger the fish IMO/IME!!!!!

I ahve some 4 inch 1/4 ounce ones. But next time out, I'll be throwing 5" bodies on a 3/4 oz head, for the Big'Uns.

I would say a jig is the best big bass bait or a spinnerbait.

A jig or a spinnerbait when fished in the right areas are big bass baits
