Found this when researching bait fish
I like many know when why and where bass spawn.
We know the same for all the game fish we search for. With some exceptions the spawn is a singular event for most game fish and it takes place in similar locations yearly. But not so for the bait fish necessarily. Now seeing bass do two things...eat and procreate and one takes place once a year I decided to study the eating end of the equation. And what do they eat a lot of? Other fish. So by learning and understanding the 'bait', hopefully I'll become a better angler. This is a pretty good read with kind of a little different look at things. And some ideas for the post spawn search. Hope you enjoy and find some new/different ideas. http://www.lurenet.com/fishing-artic...&mid=9632&jb=0 Oh don't forget, Bed, Bass and Beyond http://www.lurenet.com/fishing-artic...&mid=9632&jb=0

Good information to know. I've always said, follow the dinner menu for bass and you'll find the bass. Knowing what, when and where is the secret. This graph aids in that knowledge.

good info. understanding the menu of a lake is very important in consistently catching fish of any kind. bass, in particular, are very adept at taking advantage of shad spawning, bream spawning and so forth.
as far as bass spawning, there are a few every year that spawn in the fall again or that is at least when they get it done. this will happen in particular when we have an extended fall and temps remain in the 60's for an extended period of time. good post. follow the food and find the bass somewhere close. bo |
