I don't know if I've ever heard it or said it out loud, but I figured it was pronounced like "Saint Croy."

It's SAINT Croy like Mississippi said.
Croix It is generally pronounced one of two ways, depending upon your location. In the US, it is pronounced "croy", to rhyme with "soy", or "toy". In the rest of the world, it is pronounced "kwah" or "quah", with the "kw" sound coming from the back of the throat, in the Gallic manner. Since croix is French for "cross", the corrent pronounciation would generally be "kwah" or "quah".

It's "Saint Croy" like the island in the US Virgin Islands.

Here in the U.S. (including the Virgin Islands) we would indeed say "Saint Croy." But in French, they would probably say "Sahn Quah".

I used to say it like "Saint Crow-ix" until I heard right. It's pronounced Saint Croy for sure though.

I always called it St Crow until someone said it is like the river. I said there is a river, he was like, yeah, you know the one in Wisconsin. And I was like, oh yeah, even though I had no idea.

Bottom line, if you pronounce it right (krwah), if you pronounce it like the river and island's Americanized name (croy, which I hate, having 2 bachelor's degrees in the French language), or you pronounce it in some weird freakin' way, it's a good rod.
