if anybody has used silver thread an40 i would like to know what they think of it. I just picked some up for $4.50 and was wondering if that was a good deal.

It's great line, it's all I use, along with PowerPro or Stealth.

Whether or not it was a good deal depends on how much you got for the money, most likely it was a refill spool of 350 yards or so??? As far as the quality of the line, it's been one of my favorites for a while. I like Silver Thread and P-Line.

Silver Thread is my favorite line. It's stong, supple and cast well. I prefer the green color mono. However, it's not easy to find around here. With BassPro comming soon, it will be. When I need new line and can't get my hands on Silver Thread without ordering it, I'll use Trilene XL instead.
