"Best Bass fishin' in the world"
This past week, a tournament has taken place at a nearby lake, falcon lake. The reports were amazing, as new record bass were pulled from the lake; pro angelrs all over the United States reffer to this lake ast he best bass lake in the US. I am going to test this theory by going to the lake on sunday, and testing out some new lures and techniques. I will Update when finished.

That was one heck of a tounrament, can't wait to see it on tv! I kind feel sorry for the locals around Falcon lake now, because you know every Tom, Dick and Harry will be fishin it now. But it is a big bodie of water which looks like it holds lots of fish. As long as catch and release is practiced it should be fine. Good luck fishin it! You should try the Yum dinger worms there. They are giant senko stlye baits that should produce giant bass!

i was excited to see how the elite guys would do at falcon. i have seen a lot of tournaments there on t.v. when i watch skeeter bass champs and it always looked great. but i wasn't sure if we were just seeing just enough to make that lake look good or if it was really that good. now i am convinced!

yeah, i am convinced too, after the elite series went to amistad 2 years ago and ish won, "GET YOU SOME OF THAT" and caught huge numbers, it was the best bass lake, then they go to clear lake and record numbers are caught, then they talked about that lake as the best, but to catch over 130 pounds in 4 days of fishing is crazy talk, but i guess everything is bigger in texas, but my question, is there a lake that can produce bigger, since that seems to be the trend here!!!

Update
Bummer... only one fish!! It was not even a BASS lol, it was a CATFISH!
Conditions: Windy, murky water, about 90 degree temp (outside) about 70 deg water temp. I tried it all: Cranks, frogs, worms, jigs spinners, topwaters! This is the second time this month that I leave the lake with nothing, all except my dignity. Just last week, record breaking fish were pulled out of this lake. Why can't I have some is this luck and joy. Oh well... its just what I expected... a FLUKE! WHo knows, maybe i will catch bass within the next few months. -Stevomac59

Well...I had a long post all typed out and it disappeared.
Short version, it was a pretty good weekend of fishing at Falcon. Things were tougher than expected, though. The water level has dropped 4 feet in the week since the pros left. They opened the dam for irrigation. The water was also muddy due to rain and wind. Top fish at weigh-in was 10.24. They caught it on the same point as an 8+ they caught the day before (can you believe they wouldn't tell me where the point was?). All in all, not a bad first trip to Falcon. If you get down that way, we were really happy with the cabins at Beacon Lodge. Well, they were nice for what we were using them for. Lots of room, 2 queen beds, a table, small refrigerator, and a microwave. Room next to the cabin to park a boat with an electrical outlet for charging. Don't expect the Four Seasons, but great for fishermen.
