Weird Story
When I was fishing yesterday, and was catching bass I saw a Musky swimming in this really small pond. The wierd thing is that there was a bass right behind it. Why was this happening?

Re: Weird Story
Maybe the pond is so small that they have gotten used to being around each other. ???

Re: Weird Story
Are you sure it was a muskey, not a pike? A lot of times they're almost impossible to tell apart from eachother.

Re: Weird Story
What do you think I should use to try to catch it? Would 20 lb. Mono be enough?

If you've got a leader yeah. But don't try and catch it on mono without a leader. Supersharp teeth will cut it easily. I'd go with braided if you've got any. |

Re: Weird Story
If you do catch it I would take it out so the bass don't have to compete with it for food.

Re: Weird Story
I think the food source is abundant in the pond if there's smaller fish then the bass Why go out of your way to eat faster bigger fish?
Also the Bass were behind him! He couldn't see them! Is what I guess lol, or he's a vegaterean Â*Robby. |

Re: Weird Story
Ya can go buy a big spoon or better yet, I would get a yellow buck tail in line spinner, one blade, and def. a steel leader
The average fisherman will spend 45 hours to get one muskie to bite. They prefer to hunt in low light and usually look for forage in weed beds. We have a few tiger muskie stocked in Hueston Woods State park years ago, and every now and then someone will put one out. I think any muskie over 40-45 inches long is considered a "nice un' |
