Last year I found from this site the Manns -1 Baby and I had some pretty good sucess with it. The color depended upon the water I guess, but I usually used a black backed with a white belly. I liked burning them across the shallows or just above a weed bed.

How shallow is shallow? For so-called super-shallow water, I use Mann's Baby 1-Minus and Heddon Swim'n Image. The former goes down to 12" and the latter 18". If we're getting a little deeper, like 3-5 feet, the Shallow Shad Rap is by far my favorite. I'm not one who places a high premium on colors. Generally I'm using a natural color like shad, bluegill, perch or crawfish or something bright like firetiger or blue-chartreuse.

Since depth is a relative term, I'd say speed trap. In the Delta Craw or fire tiger.

A Strike King 1XS, Mann's Baby -1, and a Strike King 4S. In clear water I like rootbeer and in stained water I like chart./black back.
